Miami is a coastal metropolis located in Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida. It is the 44th-largest city in the United States and the core of the nation’s eighth-largest metropolitan area. Miami is a major center and leader in finance, commerce, culture, arts, and international trade. The metro area is by far the largest urban economy in Florida and the 12th largest in the United States, with a GDP of $344.9 billion as of 2017.
Miami is also a major tourism hub for international visitors, ranking second in the country after New York City. It is extremely culturally diverse and offers a lively nightlife. It has been called the Gateway to Latin America.
